4WD Body Lift Blocks:
Roxom 4WD Body Lift Blocks are manufactured locally out of HDPE Polyethylene plastic. Body lift blocks can come machined in various forms of materials. Polyurethane and Aluminium body blocks are just two examples.
To take a quick glance at the differences between polyurethane and polypropylene we take a look at the following example:
Polyethylene is among the most widely used plastic polymers in the world. Usually when people are describing something as being made of “plastic” there is a good chance that they are referring to polyethylene. Polyethylene is used to manufacture various items. Some examples include, shopping bags, toys, shampoo bottles, bulletproof vests and even our very own boat trailer parts range. Chemically, the structure of polyethylene is the simplest of all commercial polymers. It consists of a long chain of carbon atoms with two hydrogen atoms attached to each carbon atom.
Polyurethane is typically used to manufacture foam, such as the kind found in padded furniture. However, polyurethane is a highly versatile polymer. Polyurethane, in addition to foam can also be a fiber and an elastomer because of its elastic properties. Polyurethane is used to manufacture paints and adhesives. Urethane is also is a key component in spandex and lycra, stretchy man-made materials typically used in clothing. Urethane being soft in nature is also used to produce many softer forms of boat trailer rollers which are primarily used with fiberglass hulls.
Polyethylene is a thermoplastic resin, which means an item made with polyethylene can be recycled, melted down and reformed into other possible shapes. Polyurethane, on the other hand, is a thermoset resin, meaning that it has two parts mixed together to form a chemical chain. Once polyurethane is cured, the process can’t be undone. This means that something made of polyurethane can’t be melted down and reformed into a different item.
